The Big Snow Festival is basically an excuse to grab your mates and head off into the hills for a week of skiing, boarding and partying. Hotel Solana, Arinsal

The main hotel for festival-goers is right in the heart of the action. Within easy stumbling distance of the bars and gondola, the Solana has a sauna and pool table to help you chill-out after going at it both barrels on the slopes and dancefloor.

Aparthotel Crest, Arinsal

With its big rooms and position just 50 metres from the slopes, this is the perfect place for groups of skiers or board junkies who don't want to miss a moment on the white stuff. The chilled-out location is 700 metres from the centre of town.

The Hotel Crest has a lounge with log fires, bar, restaurant, TV and games room and internet access.

Accommodation
All rooms have satellite TV, balcony, shower and toilet. The smaller rooms have twin beds but larger apartments for four or five people are also available.

Hotel Arinsal, Arinsal

It figures that as one of the oldest hotels in the resort, the Arinsal has baggsied one of the best spots. The wood and stone building lies just 100 metres from the main ski lift and is within wobbling distance of the bars, restaurants and pubs.

The Hotel Arinsal has a lounge area with open fire, bar and restaurant.

Hotel Montane, Arinsal

Possibly the best positioned hotel in Arinsal, virtually opposite Arinsal's main gondola, the Montane provides excellent access to the slopes, all resort amenities and nightlife with stunning views of Pic Negre, the second highest peak in Arinsal.

Room types available are twin, triple and quad, available with private bath or shower, WC, satellite TV, hairdryer, some enjoying the use of a shared balcony or terrace.

The Montane has a small reception area with bar and lifts to all floors.

Hotel Princessa Parc and Diana Parc, Arinsal

The most bling complex in the resort, these A-list hotels have their own bars, bowling alley and spa. When you're done with the hyrdo jets and massage, you can be into the action within minutes - the gondola is only 200 metres away and the centre of town half that distance.

The Princessa Parc and Diana Parc hotels have a restaurant, lounge areas, pub with live music, piano bar, sports bar, free wifi, ten pin bowling alleys, pool tables, table football, games room and a spa.

Revitalise Spa

An ideal setting for snow voyeurs, the place with the unpronounceable name offers great views of the valley, so you can feel like you're part of the action without even leaving the hotel. Should you want to join in, the resort centre and main ski lift is only 300 metres away.

Looking like a honeycomb from the outside, the Patagonia is a great base for the festival's busy bees, just 50 metres from the express stairlift and 100 metres from the ski bus stop. When you've finished buzzing around, you can unwind with an onsite massage or a spell in the steam room.

The Hotel Patagonia has a bar, coffee bar lounge, free use of fitness room, sauna and steam room, TV room, internet access, games room, parking areas, disabled facilities and a 90-seat restaurant.

The perfect place to stay for those who like to get high, the St Gothard Hotel is 1,400 metres above sea level. Thankfully, the action of Arinsal is a bit closer - it's just 800 metres to the resort centre and ski slopes and a bus will help you eat up the ground if you're feeling lazy.
