If variety is the spice of life then Arinsal's restaurant scene must be hot, hot, hot!

Whether you're looking for a romantic meal, a lively place to kick back with your mates or just somewhere to fill up after a hard day on the slopes, Arinsal will have exactly what you're looking for. And it won't cost you and arm and a leg because – have we mentioned this yet? – you don't pay tax on anything in Andorra.

Here's a selection of our favourite places to chow down...

Ciscos

Tex-mex restaurant upstairs from the bar serving a great range of house specials including fajitas, Cajun mango chicken and Cisco's special ribs. Make sure you say how spicy you want your food when you order!

Find it: opposite the gondola.

Timotea

Popular pizzeria and tapas bar with a range of healthy option salads and pastas if you don't feel like you've burned off enough calories on the slopes!

Find it: near the Credit Andorra bank.

Refugi d'Arinsal

The best place to eat on the mountain, Refugi D'Arinsal serves specialities like Catalan soup and lamb downstairs and fast food upstairs. The menu of the day is always good value.

Find it: on the mountain.

Surf

Argentinian steak restaurant specialising in big slabs of meat cooked on an open grill. Pizzas, pastas and burgers are available for the less adventurous.

Find it: next to the bottom of the gondola.

El Bosc

Tapas and pizza restaurant with a varied menu including pasta, grilled meats and Catalan cuisine that draws a big crowd of Spanish diners most nights.

Find it: at the top of the resort near La Tasca.

Bambu Oriental Bar & Restaurant

Authentic Chinese restaurant in the Palarine Hotel offering a variety of international beers and cocktails as well as a comprehensive Asian food menu created by a team of chefs from Beijing.

Find it: inside the Palarine Hotel, on the outskirts of Arinsal about 20 minutes walk from the resort centre.

The Mile End

Situated in the British-run Sant Andreu Hotel, The Mile End specialises in food that'll take the edge of any homesickness: roast dinners, fish n' chips and the legendary Thursday night Kurryoke.

Find it: in the Sant Andreu Hotel, five minutes up the hill from the gondola.
